Installing The Battery, Replacing The Battery Cover & Connecting The Power Supply And Charger

Installing the battery and replacing the battery cover

Installing the battery and replacing the battery cover
Press and slide the latch to remove the battery cover to open the battery compartment.
Observing the correct battery polarity, insert both batteries into the battery compartment.
Replace and slide the new battery cover (if required). Ensure it clicks securely into place.

Connecting the power supply and charger

Connect the charger

NOTES

  • Use only the power adapters provided.
  • Make sure any electrical outlets are not controlled by an electronic timer.
  • Connect the power adaptor in a vertical or floor mount position only. The adapter's prong is not designed to hold the weight of unit, so do not connect it to any ceiling, under-the-table, or cabinet outlets. Otherwise, the adaptor may not properly connect to the mains.

Disassembly / Assembly Guide

Dismantling the Handset

Handset Disassemble
Remove the battery cover from the device and remove the two batteries.
Insert the opening tool on the lower right side between the two housing shells and lever the tool in the indicated direction to release the first latch. A small gap is created.
Repeat the process following the indicated sequence around the device perimeter to release all latches systematically.
Lift the back shell slightly to remove the two battery springs and thus the back shell.
The PCB can now be easily removed from the housing.

Dismantling the Phone Base

Base Disassemble
Flip the base unit over and disconnect any power adapter or source.
Using a screwdriver, remove all visible screws from the underside of the base to release the rear housing.
Insert a opening tool into the gap between the upper and lower housings. Carefully work around the perimeter to release all internal latches. Gently lift and separate the upper and lower shells. Detach any internal wiring as needed.
Unscrew the Main PCB from its mount and lift it from the housing. Disconnect any daughter boards or socketed components.
Detach other components, like Keyboard PCB, Antenna Locker, and Charger Contact Assembly.

Dismantling the Charger

Charger Disassemble
Flip the base unit over and disconnect any power adapter or source.
Using a screwdriver, remove all visible screws from the underside of the base to release the rear housing.
Insert a opening tool into the gap between the upper and lower housings. Carefully work around the perimeter to release all internal latches. Gently lift and separate the upper and lower shells.
Take out the Main PCB from its mount and lift it from the housing.
Detach other components, like Charger Contact Assembly.

Speaker Replacement

To replace the speaker, the housing must be opened following the disassembly procedure.
With the help of the opening tool, you can pry the speaker out of the housing.
When installing the speaker, make sure that the coding nose of the speaker is correctly seated in the cabinet shell.

Keypad Replacement

To replace the keypad, the case must be opened and the PCB removed.
Remove the old keypad and insert the new one into the lower shell of the case.
Now reassemble the complete device following the assembly procedure.

Display Replacement

Critical Temperature Setting

Equip your soldering iron with a shovel tip and set the temperature to 220°C

To replace the display, the case must be opened and the PCB removed.
To remove the display module, push the two locking lugs on the module away from the side.
Clean the adhesive surfaces completely. The residues of the old module should be completely removed from the contact surfaces.
Take the new display and fix it to the assembly with approximately 3cm long strip of Kapton tape. Make sure that the contact surfaces are correctly positioned.
Place the assembly on a flat surface so that the components on the back cannot be damaged and bending of the assembly is impossible.
To protect the film, use the included silicone tape. Glue the foil to the assembly with the soldering iron at 220°C.
Slowly pass the shovel tip over the foil from top to bottom with pressure. This process should take about 8-10 seconds to ensure complete gluing.
Repeat the process on the entire width of the screen protector to completely glue all areas.
Mount the display back on the assembly.

Microphone Replacement

To replace the microphone, the housing must be opened and the circuit board removed following the complete disassembly procedure.
Carefully remove the old component and install the replacement part.
Reassemble the device ensuring all connections are secure.

Checking Your Phone After Replacing Parts

Follow the steps to make sure your phone is working properly:
Power up
  • Insert the batteries into the handset.
  • Plug in the base unit (and the charger if you use one).
Check charging
  • Headset and Base Charging
  • Place the handset on the base. Within 2 minutes, the charging icon should appear and start moving Battery Charging Cycle
  • If you also have a separate charger, place the handset on it and check for the charging icon in the same way.
Test the screen and keypad
  • Take the handset off the charger.
  • Press the Menu button to make sure the screen looks normal.
  • Press a few number keys to check that the keypad works.
Make a call
  • Dial a number to confirm you can make a call.
Receive a call
  • Ask someone to call your number so you can check:
    • The phone rings.
    • The Caller ID function - i.e. caller’s number or name appears on the screen.
    • You can hear sound from the handset and speaker.
    • You can answer in both normal mode (earpiece) and speakerphone mode.
Charge fully
  • If everything is working, place the handset back on the base or charger until the battery is fully charged (charging icon shows full).

Tip:

If something doesn’t seem right, repeat the repair steps and test again.
